UALR’s Dean Good Lectures at SAU on Nanotechnology: The Next Big Thing

CAMDEN, Ark. – Dr. Mary Good, founding dean of UALR’s College of Information Science and Systems Engineering – the CyberCollege, will be the guest lecturer at a conference on “Nanotechnology: The Next Big Thing,” at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Room 100 of the Roy E. Ledbetter Technology and Engineering Building on the Southern Arkansas University’s tech campus.
“The presentation will assist our local business and industry partners in learning more about nanotechnology and how it affects our current business and future economic development,” said Gene Hill, chief executive officer of Highland Industrial Park Inc.
Nanotechnology involves the creation and utilization of materials, devices and systems that can be used to alter the properties of other substances at the atomic level.   A Stephens Inc. report for the National Science Foundation indicates the economic impact of nanotechnology applications is estimated to exceed $1 trillion over the next 15 years.
