Gospel Choir Performs at Airport
UALR’s Children International Gospel Choir welcomed visitors to Little Rock last week at the Little Rock National Airport.
The Gospel Choir is part of Children International’s after-school program for qualifying students at Bale, Chicot, Franklin, Stephens, Wakefield, and Wilson elementary schools. CI after-school programs focus on reading and math literacy while also introducing students to the fine arts and providing performance opportunities.
“Our Gospel Choir gets quite a few invitations to perform during this time of year,” said CI Director Cheryl Chapman. “On Dec. 14, they had three performances scheduled – at the airport, Twin City Bank near the UALR campus, and at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. This part of the program broadens the student experience and allows them to give back to the community.”
