UALR Students Organize Thank-You Calls to Donors
Recent UALR donors are receiving personal calls from some of the school’s top students thanking them for supporting the institution, particularly their gifts to student scholarship funds.
Once a month, students from various groups gather at the Bailey Alumni Center to let donors know how much their support means to the students who receive the scholarships and program enhancements their philanthropy provides. Calling themselves Trojan Appreciation Callers, students gather once a month to express their gratitude for UALR supporters.
“Administrators and faculty often have numerous opportunities to express their gratitude to people who contribute financially to the University,” said Chasse Conque, manager of donor stewardship in the UALR Office of Development. “But it’s nice to hear from the students, especially those who depend on scholarship assistance to continue their studies.”
Members of the Chancellor’s Leadership Group and students in the American Humanics Program have participated in previous calling session. Another group of students in the Donaghey Scholars Program will be making thank-you calls on Feb. 5.
