Alums Raise Scholarship Funds with ‘Taste of France’ March 22
Chef Donnie Ferneau of Little Rock’s Ferneau Restaurant will prepare appetizers and sommeliers from Glazers Distributors will serve fine wines for UALR alums to enjoy at A Taste of France from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Bailey Alumni Center, an event benefiting the Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund.
For the first year, the annual tasting event will grow the endowed scholarship fund by $20,000 through event sponsorships. This fund provides much needed help for juniors and seniors with a record of strong academic performance and community involvement at UALR. Tickets – $30 per Alumni Association member – are now available through the UALR Alumni Association office at (501) 683-7208 and from association board members.
“For years, this has been a fun event with food, wine, and decor focusing on the area we choose to highlight,” said Donna Bressinck, event chair. “Past events featured Tuscany, the Napa Valley, and Spain. The setting of the Bailey Center complex along with the decor, background music, wine, and food make for a perfect evening.”
Corporate sponsors for the 2007 Taste of France include Elaine Eubank and Alfred Williams, Ferneau Restaurant, Glazer’s Distributors, Sigma Nu Alumni Society, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Taylor.
