Historic Arkansas Exhibits Boury Collection of Handwritten Scores
A reception at 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Historic Arkansas Museum will celebrate a compilation of handwritten scores by American composers collected by UALR Music Professor Robert Boury and his wife Angie. The Boury collection will be on exhibit at the museum in downtown Little Rock through Nov. 6.
Dr. Richard Sieber, former chair of the UALR Department of Music, is the special guest who will recount stories of being on the road with jazz great Dave Brubeck prior to joining the UALR faculty in 1977.
The exhibit, “On Second Thought,” is part of the museum’s Eclectic Collector Series and features correction copies of scores by Victor Herbert, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Brubeck, and Stephen Sondheim.
Admission to the reception is free and open to the public. Free parking is available. The Historic Arkansas Museum is located at 200 East Third St.
