Kerth Earns ‘ESPN The Magazine’ Academic All-District First Team Honors

For the second straight season, junior Whitney Kerth received “ESPN The Magazine” Academic All-District honors for her athletic and academic achievements as a member of the UALR cross country and track and field teams.

This season Kerth earned first team honors and is eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America.

The Perryville native became the first UALR cross country athlete – male or female – to receive three NCAA All-Region honors. A three-time All-Sun Belt recipient, she finished second at the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Championship recording a time of 17:37.83 for the 5K course.

This season Kerth became the first UALR athlete male or female to receive six career Sun Belt Conference Runner of the Week honors. She held the fastest time this season in the 5K with a time of 17:22.19 and the 6K with a time of 21:17.9.

Kerth maintains a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in political science. This season she received United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors. She has received UALR Chancellor’s List and Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List honors every semester of her career.
