Navy Blue Angels Pilot to Speak
Lt. Cmdr. Paul Brantuas, a member of the Navy’s Blue Angels high-performance precision flying team, will speak at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in UALR’s Donaghey Student Center Room G in advance of a Blue Angels performance at the Little Rock Air Force Base Saturday and Sunday.
The officer’s talk is sponsored by the Phi Chi Sigma National Veterans Fraternity at UALR.
A Blue Angels flight demonstration exhibits choreographed refinements of skills possessed by all naval aviators, including aerobatic maneuvers of the four-plane Diamond Formation, in concert with the fast-paced, high-performance maneuvers of its two solo pilots. The team also illustrates the pinnacle of precision flying, performing maneuvers locked as a unit in the six-jet Delta Formation. The Blue Angels team is stationed at Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., during the show season. However, the squadron spends January through March training pilots and new team members at Naval Air Facility El Centro, Calif.
