Wednesday, March 4, is the deadline for submitting names for openings on the UALR Alumni Association Board of Directors, Christian O’Neal, executive director of the association, said Tuesday.

The alumni board sets policy for the association and advises the University on matters of interest to the 50,000 UALR alumni. Nominees selected will serve three-year terms beginning in July.

“In reviewing the nominations, the committee will try to ensure the board is as fully representative of the alumni population as possible by taking into account such factors as degree year, college affiliation, geographic location, gender, ethnicity, and occupation,” O’Neal said.

Nominations should include a one- or two- paragraph description of the nominee and should outline the nominee’s past service to the University. Nominations should be sent to Alumni Board Nominating Committee, UALR Alumni Association, Bailey Alumni and Friends Center, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock, AR 72204; faxed to 501.683.7209; or submitted on the web.

Members serving on the nominating committee are Leila Alston (’82), Tamika Edwards (’05), Sean Glancy (’80), and Tom Steves (’70).
