BSW Students Lobby at State Capitol

Students in the UALR Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program joined more than 200 social work students and practitioners from across the state Feb. 11 to participate in Social Workers Lobby Day 2009 sponsored by the Arkansas Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Attendees were addressed by Dawn Creekmore, a representative from District 27, and Rusty Cranford, professional lobbyist. NASW Arkansas President Susan Hoffpauir presented talking points and led a question-and-answer session on the bills that attendees would be discussing with their representatives in the legislature.

The BSW program is currently taking applications for formal admission into the program.
