Symposium Marks Holocaust, Rwandan Genocide

UALR professors of history, political science, and international studies will present a symposium from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, commemorating the Holocaust and the 15th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide.

Special guest speaker will be Andrew Tusabe, second counselor of the Rwandan Embassy. The event will be in the Student Government Association Leadership Lounge in the Donaghey Student Center.

Dr. Jacek Lubecki will moderate the discussion with Dr. Tom Kaiser, professor of history, and Dr. Bill Topich, who teaches political science at UALR and Pulaski Academy.

The event commemorates the World War II-era murder of six million Jews and eastern European ethnics by the Nazis and the 100-day tribal massacre of 500,000 Rwandans by rival countrymen 15 years ago.

The event is free and open to the public. Light snacks will be served at noon. For more information, contact Lubecki at 501.683.7029.
