Malvern Native is UALR’s Top Grad
Allison Ivy Renfro of Malvern graduated Saturday, May 16, as UALR’s top graduate, receiving magma cum laude degrees in history and German. She was a graduate of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science, and the Arts.
Renfro won the University’s Whitbeck Award for outstanding graduating senior. Her silver robe among the black robes at commencement signified the honor.
The 23-year-old is the daughter of John and Donna McDonald Langston of Malvern and Rodney Renfro of Little Rock, and she is the granddaughter of Christa McDonald of Malvern.
In addition to the Whitbeck Award, Renfro won the Dr. Edward Madden and Lucy Dorothy Anson III Award for Outstanding History Major and the Outstanding Student of German Award.
After graduation, Renfro will be inducted into the Peace Corps.
