Three UALR researchers from UALR’s Department of Information Science will be in Lima, Peru, at the Americas Conference on Information Systems Aug. 13-15.

Rolf T. Wigand, Maulden-Entergy Chair and Distinguished Professor of Information Science and Management, will join graduate research assistants Dinah M. Mande and Jerry D. Wood, who will present a paper “Taming the Social Network Jungle: From Web 2.0 to Social Media” at the 16th annual international conference. The paper was selected competitively.

Mande is a master’s student in the information quality program and works with Wigand on a National Science Foundation-funded research grant, “Interorganizational Information Systems Integration Through Industry-wide Information Systems Standardization: Technical Design Choices and Collective Action Dilemmas.”

Wood is a doctoral student in the information quality track of the Ph.D. in applied science program and working with Wigand on the National Science Foundation-funded research grant, “Communication, Trust and Leadership in Virtual Organization and Teams.”

Wigand also will make a presentation to chief information officers from South America, “Web 2.0 for the CIO: Connecting with the Customer.”
