Bowen Boasts Highest Number of Applications
The UALR William H. Bowen School of Law registered yet another record for applications for the fall semester, with 1,674 individuals seeking a spot in the entering class of 2010.
The new class boasts 156 students – 103 in the full-time day division and 53 in the part-time evening division.
In addition, the class boasts the highest median Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) score in Bowen’s history. This year’s median of 154 is up from 153 in 2009 and 152 in 2008. Within each division, LSAT credentials either increased or remained steady.
Students of color make up about one-quarter of the class, which closely reflects the diversity of the nation. Students in the class hail from 23 states and two foreign countries.
“The entering class of 2010 exemplifies Bowen’s commitment to attracting the best, most diverse students possible,” said Aaron Taylor, Bowen’s associate dean for admissions. “We are attracting larger applicant pools, and this allows us to increase entering student credentials while remaining committed to wide-ranging diversity.
“As students and eventually as lawyers, this cohort will contribute to our state’s legal community for the long term.”
