Gerontology Series Begins Wednesday

Priscilla Pittman, program coordinator of Alzheimer’s Arkansas Program and Services, will speak on “Memory Loss: Myths and Realities” at 6 p.m. Sept. 8, as part of the School of Social Work’s course titled Aging and Social Policy. The class meets at 5 p.m., and speakers begin their talks at 6 p.m. in Room 114 in Larson Hall.

Other speakers and their topics in the coming weeks are Pat Phillips, “Nuts and Bolts of Social Security, Wednesday, Sept. 22; Dr. Mark Krain, professor of social work at UALR, on the Social Security debate, Wednesday, Oct. 6; Krain on the retirement debate, Wednesday, Oct. 20; and Dr. LaVona Traywick, assistant professor at the UA Cooperative Extension Service, “Sustainability and Aging,” Nov. 3.
