Peoples Named Women’s Basketball Director of Operations
Rebecca Chilton Peoples, a 17-year veteran basketball coach, has been named director of operations for UALR Women’s Basketball. Peoples joins the UALR basketball staff after an eight-year stint as assistant basketball coach at Arkansas State University.
“I’ve been very blessed throughout my coaching career,” said Peoples. “What an awesome opportunity to stay in college basketball. I am excited to learn from Coach Foley’s rich background in the game and his love for teaching. I share a daily desire to win and am ecstatic to be working with this program.”
At UALR, Peoples will be in charge of monitoring academic progress, arranging film exchange, handling the recruiting database, and assisting in community outreach.
“This is a super hire for us because of her experience,” said Head Coach Joe Foley. “She will bring a lot to the program including the knowledge that she has and the background that she had at Arkansas State.”
At Arkansas State, Peoples was the primary underclass recruiter and was in charge of coaching the guards and team offense. She also served as strength and condition liaison, directed on-campus official visits, and served as team community service coordinator.
In 2009, Peoples was named the Arkansas State Assistant Coach of the Year in large part because of the WBCA Pink ZoneTM initiative in which she was the coordinator and marketing director.
