Small Business Lands Grant for High Tech Help
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) based at UALR has received a $185,000 FAST — Federal and State Technology — Grant to provide technical assistance and other services to small, high-technology businesses in Arkansas. The ASBTDC will begin providing services through this grant Sept. 30.
In other ASBTDC news, Executive Director Janet Roderick said staff members took a very active role at this year’s annual meeting of the Association of Small Business Development Centers in San Antonio last week.

Training specialist Timothy Lee presented “Taking Your SBDC Website Mobile,” and he served on a veterans panel titled, “Serving Those Who Serve Us.”
Business Consultant Nancy Knighten discussed “Social Media Marketing for Small Business,” and Roderick presented two sessions for new state directors — “Building Your Central Office Team” and “Building Strategic Alliances.” More than 1,400 were in attendance representing every state and U.S. territory as well as a number of international attendees.
