Boden Elected to Two Adult Education Panels

Dr. Carrie Boden, associate professor of CARE-Adult Education, has been elected for a two-year term as a member at large of the Commission of Professors of Adult Education, the premier organization dedicated to adult education. Boden was elected from more than 10 candidates for the two positions.

She also has been appointed director of the Adult Higher Educational Alliance Board. Primarily focused on the practice of adult education, the group is made up of people who teach undergraduate and graduate programs for adult students.

“The key characteristic of the members of this organization is a commitment to “adult friendly” programming, such as short courses and online courses,” Boden said. “It is a group of folks that are  innovative and use best practices from adult education. It is very helpful to me to draw on the experiences of colleagues with similar approaches, and it is an honor to serve on this board.”
