Mason Elected to UAPB National Alumni Hall of Fame
Jesse Mason Jr., director of the Cooperative Education Program at UALR, was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2010 at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff/Agricultural, Mechanical & Normal Nov. 5 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
Mason, who was elected to the Little Rock Board of Directors in 1992 and served as vice mayor from 1993 to 1994, was recognized during a convocation dinner and dance with 10 other inductees and three posthumous honorees to make up the Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2010.
Other honorees were Harold Dorsey, John Smith, Shirley Williams, Mildred Griggs, Rev. W.R. “Smokey” Norful, Bishop Chester Thompson, Shirley Johnson, Carl Redus Jr., John Walker, and Dr. Edward Mays. Posthumous inductees were Dr. Darwin Davis, Shelton McGee, and Dr. Willie Molette.
