Lisenne Rockefeller Named to UALR Board
Lisenne Rockefeller has been approved by the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees to serve a six-year term on the UALR Board of Visitors.
The Board of Visitors selects persons to serve, subject to approval by the UA Board of Trustees.
The Board of Visitors also elected for second terms current board members Haskell Dickinson, president of McGeorge Construction Company, and Mark Doramus, chief financial officer of Stephens Inc. Their second terms will be through 2016.
“Lisenne Rockefeller has worked on multiple fronts for a better community and a better state,” said UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson. “She is joining a very knowledgeable, influential group. The experience and perspective she adds will be valuable to the Board of Visitors and to UALR.”
Rockefeller has served on the boards of the Arkansas Cancer Research Center, now known as the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Delta Trust & Bank, Arkansas Virtual Academy and Ballet Arkansas. She is past chair of the board of The Nature Conservancy Arkansas and the Pulaski Humane Society and was a founding member of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas. She currently serves on the boards of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, Easter Seals Arkansas, and The Nature Conservancy.
She and her late husband, Lt. Governor Win Rockefeller, provided leadership in founding The Academy at Riverdale, a non-profit school in Little Rock for children with special needs. Mrs. Rockefeller was the driving force in constructing the school and creating its unique educational philosophy.
The responsibility of the Board of Visitors is to advise the UALR chancellor and the president of the University of Arkansas System and its governing body, the UA Board of Trustees. The UALR board is currently chaired by Dr. Dean Kumpuris, a gastroenterologist and member of the Little Rock Board of Directors.
