Deadline Approaches for Fall Scholarships

Planning on attending UALR in the fall? Tuesday, Feb. 1, is the deadline to submit an application for most institutional scholarships.

Top scholarships include:

  • Chancellor’s Academic Leadership Distinction Scholarship | $40,000 for four years
  • Provost’s Academic Excellence Scholarship | $32,000 for four years
  • Chancellor’s Leadership Corps | $32,000 for four years
  • Dean’s Academic Merit Scholarship | $24,000 for four years
  • Academic Achievement Scholarship | $16,000 for four years
  • Shelby Breedlove Transfer Scholarship | $12,000 to $16,000 for up to two years

Entering freshmen with an ACT score of 22-23 and a 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average are eligible for $2,000 per year for four years.

“Awards are determined annually based on eligible applications and available funding,” said Tammy Harrison, director of Admissions and Financial Aid. “Please see the scholarship application for complete eligibility requirements. We look forward to helping you begin your college career as a Trojan.”

Other available UALR scholarships focus on science, math, and engineering prospects, including the EIT Scholars, awarding $48,000 for four years; EAST Scholars, awarding $40,000 for four years; and Science Scholars, awarding $40,000 for four years.

Feb. 1 is also the deadline to apply for the Phyllis Keltner Foundation for Single Women Scholarship.

March 1 is the deadline to apply for all other private scholarships as well as for the Donaghey Scholars Program, UALR’s top honors program. The program offers a generous financial package, interdisciplinary core curriculum, study abroad opportunities, and a supportive community to provide a distinctive learning environment for undergraduate studies.

“UALR private scholarships are offered through the UALR Office of Development and are made possible through the generous support of UALR donors,” said Karin Bara, private scholarship coordinator.
