UALR Offers Non-Credit Classes in Arabic
UALR’s non-credit classes in Arabic begin on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The classes are open to the public at a cost of $100 for the semester. Dr. Krista Lewis, assistant professor of anthropology and Middle Eastern Studies, said the classes are non-credit courses that teach the basics of the Arabic language, both written and spoken, including the Arabic script. Online registration will be open through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, or until the classes are full. Space is limited. “This semester we are offering two sections of beginning Arabic. Both sections will meet once a week on Wednesdays,” Lewis said. “Section A will meet from 10 a.m. to noon and Section B will be held 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.” Both classes will be held in room 211 in Ross Hall through May 11.
