Grad Student Researchers Recognized

Research and graduate students Allen Stanley and Angela Willis have been recognized as Certified Research Administrators by the Research Administrators Certification (RASS) Board of Directors.

“This recognition reflects their demonstrated knowledge and competency in the field of research administration and their passing of a rigorous comprehensive examination,” said Dr. Patrick Pellicane, vice provost for research and dean of the UALR Graduate School.

They join Sharon Kaufman and Sharon Walburger in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) who have previously been recognized.

This year, the staff of ORSP produced a weekly short course to train campus and external research administrators in fundamental research administration and to prepare attendees to take the comprehensive exam. The two who completed the course and took the test were successful.

In the fall, the course will be offered again and Pellicane said he hopes more campus research administrators will be trained and gain certification. More information will follow in September.
