James Playford of Cabot, a UALR mechanical engineering technology major in the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology (EIT), received first place for his poster at a recent American Society of Mechanical Engineers Student Leadership Conference held at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Mechanical engineering students from the region – Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Missouri – participated in the conference.

Playford also presented his research results at the Arkansas Academy Sciences Conference at the University of Arkansas at Monticello earlier this month and again received first place for his research in the Undergraduate Physical Sciences category.
