UALR to Salute Business Alumna of Year
Cynthia Treadwell-McConnell, president of Air Transport Services Group Inc., will be honored as the UALR College of Business Distinguished Alumna of the Year, Dean Anthony Chelte has announced.
Treadwell-McConnell graduated with honors from UALR in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and in 2002 she earned an executive master’s in business administration degree, also from UALR.
Frank D. Scott Jr., director of intergovernmental affairs for Gov. Mike Beebe’s administration, has been selected to receive the Dean’s Award for Excellence. Both will be honored at the college’s annual luncheon Oct. 14 at the Little Rock Peabody Hotel. For more information, contact 501-569-3048.
Before assuming the president’s chair this year, Treadwell-McConnell served for 10 years as vice president and chief financial officer of Air Transport International, a subsidiary of the Air Transport Services Group, a leading provider of air cargo transportation and services to domestic and foreign air carriers and other companies.
An experienced financial professional, Treadwell-McConnell was previously managing director of finance at Continental Airlines for four years and served in multiple audit roles for Ernst & Young and PepsiCo.
Scott, a member of the UALR Alumni Association Board of Directors, implements the governor’s legislative agenda, makes public policy recommendations, and serves as liaison to congressional delegations, federal agencies, White House, National Governors Association, Southern Governors Association, and Delta Regional Authority.
In 2009, he served as the state’s interim health information technology coordinator for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Scott received an MBA with a concentration in strategic management in 2009 from UALR following a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a sales management concentration from the Fogelman College.
He is a member of the UALR Management Business Advisory Council, the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
