Associate Dean Named for COB Grad Studies
Dr. Sonya Premeaux of Thibodaux, La., has been named associate dean of the UALR College of Business Graduate Studies program, Dean Anthony F. Chelte has announced.
Formerly associate dean of the Nicholls State University College of Business, Premeaux was instrumental in the college’s successful reaffirmation of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business international accreditation.
She led the creation of the college’s assessment program and was heavily involved in strategic planning and curriculum revision.
Premeaux was previously associate professor of management and the Gerald Gaston Endowed Professor of Business Administration at Nicholls. Prior to her service at Nicholls, she was assistant professor of management at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La.
Premeaux received her Ph.D. in organizational behavior and human resource management from Louisiana State University and her B.S. degree in management and MBA from McNeese.
Her primary research interests include work-life issues including conflict and enrichment – topics that have been published in numerous academic journals and that she has presented on at various academic conferences. She has also been an active member in several professional and civic organizations and served as the 2010 board chairman of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce.
