In Memoriam: Dr. Frank Setliff
Frank Lamar Setliff, UALR professor emeritus of chemistry, passed away on July 31.
Dr. Setliff came to LRU in 1966 and retired from UALR after a 35-year teaching career in 2001. He continued as a lecturer for eight more years.
During his tenure, he conducted research in the area of organic chemistry and authored or co-authored 40 technical articles.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Arkansas Academy of Sciences, and is listed in the Outstanding Educators of America and American Men and Women of Science. In 1990, he was honored with the Outstanding Teacher Award in the College of Science and Mathematics.
Visitation for the family will be at Roller-Chenal Aug. 4 at 6 p.m., and a memorial service will be held at Fellowship Bible Church Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
