Opportunities Abound for Student Exchanges
Faculty, staff, and student mentors welcomed UALR’s 32 international exchange students representing five countries at a reception Aug.14. The number of exchange students this year represents a six-fold increase since 2007.
This year’s exchange students represent China, India, Germany, France, and Mexico.
“Exchange students join us for one semester or academic year based on cooperation agreements signed between UALR and institutions overseas,” said Aimee Jones, Programs Abroad coordinator in the Office of International Services. “This fall, seven UALR students will travel to partner institutions to study abroad for a semester or year.”
Students interested in study abroad opportunities can contact Office of International Services at 501-683-7566. Faculty, staff, and students can get involved in the exchange program by becoming mentors for visiting exchange students.
“If you are interested in meeting these students, look for International Club events or attend Nov. 14 to 18,” Jones said.
