Felecia Epps, professor of law at the William H. Bowen School of Law, will discuss interactions with the police on Thursday’s edition of “Bowen Connection,” a new University Television program designed to help area residents better understand the law and how it affects their lives.

The program debuted Oct. 6 with Bowen Dean John DiPippa. “Bowen Connection” will air at 8 p.m. each Thursday on Comcast Channel 61 and U-verse Channel 99. The program will be rebroadcast at 11 a.m. each Sunday. In addition, viewers can catch older episodes of the show on the University TV YouTube channel.

Each week, a different professor will discuss his or her specialty with Bowen Director of Communications Tonya Oaks Smith. The first episode highlights the intersection between technology and freedoms of the press and speech.

“I am proud to partner with University TV to produce this show as a way to showcase our professors’ expertise,” said Dean John DiPippa. “I also consider it an important part of our school’s mission to educate the broader community about the law and its importance in their daily lives. This is one small way we can provide greater access to our justice system as well.”
