Fall Graduation Numbers Set Record
UALR expects a record number of students to graduate this fall, and most will walk in the commencement ceremony at 7 p.m Thursday, Dec. 15, in the Jack Stephens Center.
Again this fall, new age tools will help friends and family across the globe watch the ceremony in real time and post congratulations as their grad receives his or her degree. The pomp and circumstance of the ceremony will be streamed live over the internet.
Graduates, family, and friends can also join the online conversation through UALR’s Twitter account and Facebook page. Graduates are encouraged to share their commencement experience by posting their comments and pictures to the sites.
Registrar Joyce Hail in the Office of Records and Registration says she has received 1,010 applications for fall graduation.
“This is the highest number that I believe we have ever had for fall commencement,” she said. “Last fall, we had 936 applicants and we had 751 in fall 2009.
