Former SGA President to be Honored in D.C.
UALR alum Chad Stover, former president of the Student Government Association and a 2006 graduate, will be honored at the White House Jan. 19 for his work to empower and inspire communities through the Arkansas Citizen Corps Program. The program was created to help coordinate volunteer activities that will make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to any emergency situation.
As deputy branch manager of homeland security for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, Stover has earned the Obama administration’s attention for his efforts at helping ordinary citizens in all Arkansas counties better prepare their communities for emergencies like floods or tornadoes.
Stover will he named a White House Champion of Change, a designation that is part of the administration’s effort to “out-innovate, out-educate, and out-build the rest of the world.”
