Spring Break Arts Camp Begins March 19
UALR’s Community School of the Arts will offer a Spring Break Arts Camp, modeled after the popular Summer Arts Camp, for children from kindergarten to age 15. The camp will operate from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, to Friday, March 23.
UALR art and music faculty members and professional artists will interact with students enrolled in the camp. Classes will include instruction in musical, visual, dance, theater, literary, dramatic arts, and more.
“It is this caliber of faculty that separates this program from others,” said Leslie Mangiamele, director of the Community School of the Arts. “The artists offer to share their expertise with children in the community, providing encouragement and mentorship. This is always a rich and rewarding experience, and a truly unique alternative to other programs.”
Tuition is $165 per child, with a 10 percent discount for any additional child enrolled from the same family. An additional $5 discount is offered if tuition is paid 30 days prior to the start of camp. To register, call 501-569-3480.
Each day, the children will attend four arts classes of their choosing and will receive instruction in their own age group: grades K-1, 2-3, 4-6, and 7 and up. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year, the school will also offer a special workshop in Kindermusik for newborns to age four. A parent or caregiver must accompany the child. Classes meet for 40 minutes each morning, beginning at 11:15 a.m. Tuition is $50.
