Library Invites All to ‘Write on the Wall’
Recently vacated space on the second floor of the Ottenheimer Library is destined to become student space, but what kind of space will it become? Library officials want students themselves to say what they want.
“Before the removal of the wall that separated the old Archives from Special Collections comes down, we will be covering it with craft paper and are asking everyone to ‘write on the wall’ and tell us their ideas for perfect second-floor workspaces,” said Wanda Dole, dean of the Ottenheimer Library.
Work is expected to begin later in the month to open up the second floor area for student work space. The area had been home to the UALR Archives and Special Collections – now the UALR Center for History and Culture and housed at the Rivermarket in the Arkansas Studies Institute.
“Writing on the wall will be a fun way for students to give input and for us to promote some changes that will be coming soon,” Dole said.
She said the library will be giving a demonstration within a few weeks of new Agati study tables that integrate technology and ease collaboration.
