Taste of Argentina, this year’s signature fundraising event for the UALR Alumni Association, broke all records for the annual event.

Close to 600 reservations and almost as many attendees raised $86,000 to date. Pledges are still coming in from donors.

“We are still hoping to reach the $100,000 mark before the end of the year,” said Scott Gordon, president of the Alumni Association.

Lee Johnson, chair of the association’s scholarship fund, said the group will be able to award 18 scholarships to deserving students. The process of selecting the recipients is ongoing.
