The UALR William H. Bowen School of Law will host a Community Relations Executive Seminar Training (CREST) sponsored by both the FBI Little Rock Field Office and the Hispanic Law Students Association.

The program, which starts at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the first floor Friday Courtroom, is free and open to the public.

It is designed to teach attendees about the mission, goals, history, and internal workings of the FBI.

The seminar will focus specifically on issues pertaining to civil rights, human trafficking, and violent crimes in relation to the state of Arkansas and its Hispanic community.

“Not only will attorneys benefit, but also community leaders, laymen, educators, business owners, and all those involved in the Hispanic Community will benefit from attending the program,” said Kimberly Brunell, supervisory special agent for the FBI’s chief division counsel. “Those attending will learn about the mission of the FBI in Arkansas and how to be a catalyst for improving the quality of life within our communities.”

Brunell said attendees will have the opportunity to identify and address problems affecting their communities.

“The FBI has had a great response from holding its Citizens’ Academies,” Brunell said, “and we wanted to reach even more people and groups by having a shorter, more focused version of the Citizens Academy — hence, CREST was born.”
