High Schoolers to ‘Discover UALR’
Hundreds of high school juniors, seniors, and their parents will be on the UALR campus Friday, Oct. 19, for the university’s fall open house, Discover UALR.
“This is a chance for prospective students and parents to visit our beautiful campus and discover our rigorous academic programs and exciting campus life,” said Katie Young, interim director of recruitment.
The day will begin at the Jack Stephens Center with a welcome from UALR alumni Georgia and Dominic Mjartan, both graduates of UALR’s Donaghey Scholars honors program.
Visitors will also have a chance to browse at an information fair about academic programs and departments, as well as university organizations and services.
Students and parents can then explore the campus and visit academic departments of their choice, which will be highlighted in concurrent sessions throughout the day.
iPhone users are encouraged to download UALR’s free mobile app where they can access university news, an interactive map of the campus, a trolley tracker, and other features.
The day will conclude with tours of the campus grounds and UALR’s multiple housing options.
Students can RSVP at the Discover UALR Registration page.
