Nonprofit Center Offers Tax-Exempt Workshop

IRS revenue agents and tax law specialists will present advice to help small- and medium-sized nonprofit organizations maintain their tax-exempt status at a daylong workshop offered Tuesday, Dec. 4, and Wednesday, Dec. 5. The workshop is sponsored by UALR’s Center for Nonprofit Support, the Arkansas Coalition for Excellence, and the IRS.

The cost of the workshop is $29.50 and includes breakfast and lunch as well as  a handbook and relevant IRS forms and publications. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. workshop in the Donaghey Student Center’s Ledbetter Hall A, B, and C. Workshop topics will include an in-depth discussion of activities that can jeopardize 501(c)(3) status, unrelated business income, gaming, and employment issues. Particular emphasis will be given to explaining resources available to help with completing the revised Form 990 and 990-EZ annual information returns that tax-exempt organizations submit to the IRS.
