Tech Park Board to Meet on UALR Campus Today

The Technology Park Authority Board will meet Wednesday afternoon on the UALR campus to review the consultant’s report on the proposed sites for a technology park as well as hear from site representatives.

The meeting will be from 4 to 6 p.m. in Engel Hall at the Bailey Alumni Center. A public comment session will follow the report review.

The technology park initiative is sponsored by the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, City of Little Rock, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The proposed sites include:

• Site No. 2- 701 Collins Street
• Site No. 8- Southeast Corner of Asher Ave and University Ave
• Site No. 13-  1911 to 2225 John Barrow Road

The goal is to create the area’s first technology park to drive economic growth and innovation. A 3/8 percent sales tax increase passed by Little Rock voters in 2011 will raise $22 million toward the development of the park.
