More Than 800 Summer Classes on Tap
Summer school is not what it used to be. With more than 800 classes to choose from, students registering for one of three summer sessions have choices for traditional, online, and hybrid classes.
Offerings range from a large selection of classes in subjects such as accounting, world literature, Arkansas history, biology, and business management to classes in social gerontology, robotics, oceanography, Shakespeare’s England, play therapy, natural disasters, entrepreneurship, and blacksmithing. More than 300 of the classes are available online. To find the right course, use the Class Search Tool.
The class selection is designed with a variety of students in mind: high school students wanting to get jump start on college, students home for the summer from other universities, adults who want to retool for a better job or a promotion, transfer students, continuing UALR students who want a faster track to their degree, and life-time learners wanting to learn more.
“We want to make it convenient for scholars of all ages to get the learning experience they seek this summer,” said Dean Kahler, UALR vice chancellor for enrollment management. “Our selection of classes, especially the online programs, gives students in Arkansas and around the world access to higher education when it best fits their busy schedules.”
Students can apply for admission online. Students who are home for the summer from other colleges and universities will need only to submit an official letter of good standing from their home institution and register for classes.
Financial aid is available for students seeking a degree from UALR.
