UALR celebrates spring commencement May 18
Family and friends are invited to celebrate with the 2013 graduating class at Spring Commencement, held at two separate times Saturday, May 18, at the Jack Stephens Center.
The commencement time varies depending on the college from which the graduate is receiving his or her degree. At the 9:30 a.m. ceremony, the following colleges will confer degrees:
- College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
- College of Education
- College of Professional Studies
For the 3 p.m. ceremony, the following colleges will confer degrees:
- College of Business
- College of Science
- George W. Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology
All graduates need to be at the Stephens Center at least one hour before their respective ceremony begins. Each ceremony will last approximately one and one half hours.
The Stephens Center will open for guests at 8 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. Early arrival is recommended.
The event will also be available for viewing online via the Spring 2013 Ceremony Live Stream.
Commencement is held twice per year and is a source of great pride for the university, members of the graduating class and their families. This spring, more than 1,500 students have applied to graduate during May’s commencement.
