Scholar athletes receive top honors
University of Arkansas at Little Rock scholar athletes continue to receive top honors from national organizations.
UALR senior Katie Reid and junior Sofia Berglund have been named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the 2012-13 season. To qualify, they earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or above.
In addition, UALR senior Nick Zimmerman and former UALR men’s golfer Nicklaus Benton have been named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, according to the Golf Coaches of America Association. To be eligible, an individual must be a junior or senior, compete at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 76.0 (Division I) and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
