Flu vaccine: No pain here!
The annual flu vaccine campaign is going on from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the lower concourse of the Donaghey Student Center.
Marie Sandusky, director of Health Services, said they gave out 1,200 vaccines at last year’s clinic. She’s expecting around 1,000 vaccines to be given today.
For benefits-eligible employees with the UA System health plan, UMR will cover the cost but employees must bring their membership card. Non-benefits eligible employees and those who do not have UMR can still receive the vaccine – the cost will be covered by UALR.
Students should get their free flu shots at this time too. As long as you know your T#, your flu shot will be covered.
After Oct. 23, flu vaccines will continue to be available through Health Services on an appointment basis, but I’d recommend going today.
A few from our office showed up around 10 a.m. There was a group already there but we didn’t have to wait at all. And the UALR nursing students did a great job! It was painless and quick, just what we wanted.
Oh, and the sucker helped too.
