Small-business workshop to focus on entrepreneurship, commercialization
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center, housed at UALR, will hold a half-day workshop focused on basic processes related to entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and commercialization.
The workshop, “Commercializing Your Technology: Moving From Idea to Market,” will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 15, in the ASBTDC Lead Center, Donald W. Reynolds Center for Business and Economic Development, at UALR.
The workshop fee is $50 for the general public and free for UALR students, faculty, and staff. Register online. The deadline is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Topics covered will include intellectual property, confidentiality, transfers of right, entity formation, marketing summaries, proof of concept, scale-up, presenting to investors, dilution, and various business models.
Brian Rogers, director of Arkansas State University Catalyst Innovation Accelerator, will lead the course. Rogers has shepherded specific innovations from original disclosure through formation of startup companies and negotiated the associated transactions.
