Works of Led Zepplin highlight percussion ensemble Dec. 2
The UALR Percussion Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2., in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building at UALR.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The ensemble is under the direction of conductor and founder Charles Law and will feature a performance of “Alternate Sticking Parade” for large ensemble by Tatsushi Muramatsu, “Common Ground” by Doug Stephens, and “Let the Big Dawg Eat” by Chris Brooks.
The second half of the concert will feature the works of Led Zepplin and Christopher Rouse. There will be performances of “Kashmir” by Jimmy Page, “Bonham” by Rouse, and Page’s “Stairway to Heaven,” arranged specifically for the ensemble by Law.
The UALR Percussion Ensemble is recognized as one of the premiere ensembles of its kind and has toured across the country performing concerts at universities and other concert series to support arts and education.
