Dennis Wayne Wormington, 39, a UALR alumnus and former Student Government Association president, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, in Texarkana, Texas.

He graduated from UALR in 1996 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice and Biology. While attending UALR, Dennis was elected SGA president and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

In 1999, Wormington earned a Juris Doctor from the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law and was admitted to the Arkansas Bar Association in 2000. He served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the 22nd Judicial District in Saline County from 2000 to 2003.

Since 2003, Wormington practiced law in Texarkana and was admitted to the Texas Bar Association in 2004. He was also a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Texarkana Bar Association, and the Texarkana Young Lawyers Association.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Heritage Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas, with Revs. Todd Reed and Tim Montgomery officiating.

Burial will be at East Memorial Gardens on Highway 67 in Texarkana, Ark., under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
