With just six seconds left on the clock, UALR junior Taylor Gault hit a baseline jumper to seal the victory.

Foley, in his 27th season as a college basketball coach and 11th season at UALR, heads a women’s basketball team picked by league coaches to win the Sun Belt Conference this year. Both Gault and Taylor Ford were named to the All-Sun Belt first team in October.

He is the 2010 and 2011 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year and 2010 Russell Athletic/WBCA Regional Coach of the Year.

Foley also coached UALR’s first-ever Honorable Mention All-America Honoree, Chastity Reed, in 2010. Reed went on to becomes the first Trojan women’s basketball player to be drafted into the Women’s National Basketball Association.

Foley has compiled the most overall wins and conference victories in a past season while producing the school’s first All-Sun Belt Conference selection in Alicia Cash in 2004.

He also recruited back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year in Renee Renz in 2006 and Kim Sitzmann in 2007, helping UALR do something no other Sun Belt Conference school has achieved.

The women’s basketball team plays the University of Texas women’s team in Austin, Texas, at 7 p.m. tonight, Dec. 4. The game will be televised on the Longhorn Network, through ESPN.

The team later competes at Tulsa in the first game of a men’s and women’s doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 7.
