UALR Campus Campaign surpasses 2013 goal

The UALR Campus Campaign Steering Committee announced today that the campus community exceeded goals set during the 2013 campaign and continued the recent tradition of solid employee participation.

The Steering Committee had established a goal of 51 percent participation from UALR faculty and staff; however, that goal was exceeded with 52 percent participation, raising more than $293,100 for vital programs at the university including student scholarships.

UALR Campus CampaignUALR Chancellor Joel E. Anderson and his wife, Ann, also donated $1,500 this year for a fund to match new donor gifts, dollar for dollar.

When told of the  campaign’s success, Chancellor Anderson remarked that he was honored to lead a university where the faculty and staff continue to believe so strongly in its mission that they are willing to dedicate their own, hard-earned money towards its future.

Dr. Brad Patterson served as chair of the 2013 Campus Campaign, his second and final year in this role.

“Thank you to our 732 colleagues who participated by giving this year,” he said. “Together, we get to transform lives every day, and that’s the best reason to support the campaign.”

Patterson noted that, when counting all the volunteers who organized and conducted the campaign in a variety of ways across campus, more than 1,000 employees were actively involved in the campaign.

The 2013 Campus Campaign is also able to boast the highest number of individual departments with employees striving to reach 100 percent participation. Twenty-eight departments are able to claim distinct “blue-ribbon” status.

The following departments reached 100 percent participation:
