Trojan fans could boost scholarship fund $100,000 with vote
UALR has the chance to win $100,000 for its scholarship fund but needs the public’s help to do so.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has launched the NCAA 6th Fan contest, a nationwide online competition that will determine which Division I school has the most school pride and supportive fans.
The winning school will receive $100,000 to support the school’s general scholarship fund.
The top 16 will be announced Feb. 17. The universities who make it to the Sweet Sixteen will each receive $10,000.
UALR fans may vote every day through each voting method: online, Twitter, and Facebook.
Online votes may be cast at the NCAA website. Votes through Twitter and Facebook can also be submitted at the NCAA site.
Additionally, votes may be made on Twitter by using both the #6thFan and #UALR hashtags in a tweet or by retweeting any tweet that uses those hashtags. Follow the main UALR and UALR Athletics Twitter accounts to receive updates on the university’s standing each day.
The championship round starts March 9 and runs through March 16 when the winning school is announced on Selection Sunday.
