Students to present fourth annual African-American Read-In

Alpha Beta Kappa, the UALR chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, will host its fourth annual “African-American Read-In” this month.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Meeting Room D.

The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments and door prizes will be available, according to Dr. Trey Philpotts, professor and chair of the UALR English department.

“This is an excellent opportunity for UALR to celebrate texts by African-American authors,” he said, adding that participants are invited to share excerpts of their favorite texts with the group.
