Dodgeball for a cause

This week, we have a guest post by Emily Bruner, Vice President of Public Relations for Eta Sigma. She tells us about their annual dodgeball tournament and how you can get involved for a good cause.

We’ve been planning and planning and now it’s here, Kappa Delta Shamrock 2014! This is Eta Sigma’s first time to ever have a week long Shamrock.

We’re so excited to be promoting our philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA), all week long. Shamrock is Kappa Delta’s philanthropy event that chapters all over the country hold each year in March. Our big event has always been the Shamrock Dodgeball Tournament. This year we have added two more events in hopes to raise more money to benefit PCAA.

Thursday, March 13, we’re kicking off the events with a Pancake Dinner in Ledbetter room C at 7:30 p.m. Come join us, as Kappa Deltas serve up fresh IHop pancakes complete with a toppings bar! Tickets are $3 in advance and can be purchased from any Kappa Delta on campus or at our table on campus.

Friday evening we will be having a Stroll Tournament in the Field house, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are also $3 in advance, but the event is free to participants. Join us for a fun night as sororities and fraternities Stroll Off against each other!

The event will begin at 2 and run will about 6 p.m. Dodgeball Sign-Ups are taking place all week long. You can sign up at our table by the DSC or show up the day of and register your team.

Teams are a maximum of 10 players and cost $10 a person, or $90 for a full team of 10.
