Dr. Vander Putten collaborates with University of Bamberg officials
During a recent trip to Germany, UALR Associate Professor of Higher Education Dr. Jim Vander Putten discussed plans for international research collaborations with researchers based at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories at the University of Bamberg.
Vander Putten said he was invited to the institute during a research colloquium held in Philadelphia,
and he attended the meetings following his presentations at the European Association for Institutional Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
“I think everyone in attendance at the meetings agreed that they were productive … I plan to collaborate [with a fellow researcher] on an initial study involving international comparative research on issues of student social stratification in American higher education systems and German higher education systems,” he said.
Vander Putten leads a doctoral concentration in higher education at UALR. He said he anticipates that additional collaborations will occur that involve doctoral students in the program, as well as his other colleagues.
